Walk accross rice paddies and join a local lady in her luxuriant orchard and vegetable garden. With the help of traditional manual tools, harvest seasonal vegetables, fruits and other edible plants. Afterwhat, get to the kitchen of a 100 year old house and help cooking meals the way it has been done for centuries.

  • Get your own “toritate” vegetables, or freshly picked vegetables at the peak of their taste
  • Learn to make tempura, miso soup, and other local vegetable dishes, while cooking the rice in a traditional kitchen using a kamado, wood fired clay pot.

Meet at Satoyama Marugoto Hotel.
Take a walk with a local grandma and guide in the village.
Pick wild vegetables and seasonal vegetables in the field.
Cooking experience using harvested vegetables and wild plants, followed by dinner.
Learn how to make local foods with local ingredients, and cook rice with a kamado (clay pot), all while learning from local grandmothers and experiencing traditional kitchen work.
